Withdrawing from Hastings College
Before beginning the withdrawal process, we encourage you to review the withdrawal policies, the refund policy, and seek support and advice from your academic advisor or another Hastings College employee to discuss alternative options and/or channels of support we may be able to provide. For example, we have many resources available (academic support, financial aid reviews, mental health support, special accommodations, etc.) to assist with challenges our students may face, and we want to help you be successful at Hastings College.
It is required for all students withdrawing from Hastings College to complete the Hastings College Withdrawal Form.
Withdrawal Process:
Notify your academic advisor of your decision to withdraw from Hastings College.
Review the Financial Aid Return of Title IV Aid Policy and discuss any financial implications of withdrawing with someone in the Financial Aid Office (hcfinaid@hastings.edu).
Check your student account (via the “Finance” tab in self-service or by emailing hcstudentaccounts@hastings.edu) and pay any remaining balance.
Save any items from your Google Drive or HC Canvas that you might want in the future, since your HC account will be closed upon your withdrawal.
Return any borrowed items you may still have from Perkins Library, Studio 200, or other departments. You can do this by arranging a drop-off meeting, using the library dropbox for Perkins Library items, or shipping items back to: Hastings College (department), 710 N. Turner Ave., Hastings, NE 68901
If applicable, you should:
Notify your coach or performance director, return all school-issued equipment, and discuss any potential eligibility implications.
If you resided on campus:
Work with your CLC to complete all check out procedures including removing all belongings/trash from your living space, return keys/FOB, and parking pass.
FOB, keys, and parking permits should be given to a Community Living Coordinator or Resident Assistant during checkout.
Make sure to collect any mail and/or packages you may have received: PPS is open Monday-Friday from 8-5pm (except over the lunch hour from 12-1pm).
The IT Help Desk will reach out to you about your college-issued iPad once you complete this form. You can also return it in person to the Helpdesk at HSU South hallway.
We understand that sometimes circumstances change and want you to know that if in the future you decide to re-enroll at Hastings College, we invite you to complete the admissions process by filling out the online application form at hastings.edu.
If you have questions, comments, or concerns, please let us know. Even though you are withdrawing from Hastings College, we wish you the best with your future endeavors and are here to assist if needed.
